Cookies
Last updated 2 September 2026
A cookie is a small piece of text a site asks your browser to keep and send back on the next request. Sites use them for everything from keeping you signed in to following you around the web. We use them for the first kind only.
There is no advertising cookie here, no third-party tracker, and no analytics cookie. Nothing on this page needs your consent — it is here so you can check that for yourself.
The cookies we set
Four, and each one does something you asked for:
- __Host-eversales_admin — keeps a staff member signed in to the console. Only ever set on the console's own address.
- sb-…-auth-token — keeps you signed in to the student portal. Set by our sign-in provider; the name varies with the account.
- es_side — remembers that you chose the consulting road at the entrance, so coming back does not replay the choice. Lasts a year.
- es_legal_ack — records that you have seen the short legal notice, so it is not shown again on every visit. Lasts about six months.
Your light or dark preference in the portal is kept in your browser's local storage, not a cookie, and never leaves your device.
Counting visits without a cookie
We count page views in our own database so we can see which pages work. No cookie is set to do it. Your IP address and browser are turned into a short one-way code on our server and then discarded, and the secret behind that code is changed every night — so there is no identifier that lasts, on your device or ours. The Privacy page explains the mechanism in full.
Why there is no banner to click through
Consent rules for cookies exist to govern tracking — cookies that are not needed to provide the service. We do not set any. There is, in any case, nothing non-essential here to turn on or off, so the notice shown on a first visit is informational: it points you to these pages and then gets out of the way.
Turning cookies off yourself
Your browser can block or delete cookies, for every site or just this one. If you block ours:
- you will not be able to stay signed in to the portal or the console;
- the entrance will show you the fork every time; and
- the legal notice will come back on each visit.
Nothing else changes, because there is nothing else these cookies do.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we do not track you and do not sell or share data, there is nothing for a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. Where your own law makes such a signal a valid opt-out, we treat it as one.
